“Badaun a Movie Reality”
Well I am
sure you all might have seen a typical Bollywood Movie. The storyline goes like
this: A girl goes out of the House; she is Abducted; Raped; Parents go to
Police station telling so and so people have abducted my child; police calls
them and tell parents to go Home, their child will return Home after few Hours;
after few hours girl does not come home; parents again go to Police station,
police says that your girl must be hanging on some trees in the fields, go and
search them.
How
unsympathetic, how cruel can one be? Well don’t worry it’s just a film? But
still if you are not able to imagine such situations don’t worry, you will get
everything in India. Ya this is true story of one of the Indian village BADAUN
in Uttar Pradesh a separate nation in India. It’s shocking but it’s true.
I will not
narrate the story again because it seems as if the Director of the movie has
been inspired by the above situation and not the other way around.
It is a
tragic incidence; the administrators like policemen while swearing in for the
service take an oath to protect the people but the moment they are given
powers, some of them don’t turn up to their duties and responsibilities. The
biggest question that arises is that when the girl’s father told the name of
the person who has abducted his girl child to the Thanedar, and he also
reaffirmed it, then why has he not taken any action and told the parents that
your girl child must be hanging on some tree in the fields, go and search!!!
It’s a true
case of administration being hijacked by the self-motivated peoples and the
political class, which is not at all a good for a developing country like
India.
Well after
such an incident you would expect the highest authority of the state to
sympathize the parents, promise them speedy justice and strict action. But you
would be surprised to know that what worse can happen in India, when asked
about the case, Authority tells “ Aapko toh Khatra nahi hua na? And announces
compensation.
It was not
the first case of rape, there had been many cases that had occurred in India. A
welcome step came at the time of Nirbhaya case, when government announced the
Nirbhaya Fund of Rs.1, 000 crores, but not a single penny has been spent out of
it till now and mere appeared a publicity stunt to cool down the issue.
Badaun now
has become a Peepli Live due to a huge political and media storm. But all this
will shade away what will remain is reality. To ensure that such an incident
does not occur again the present government needs to take stern, strict and
fast actions.
